Nikay Higgins is a session hairstylist and groomer working across editorial, red carpet, campaign and film. She was named NAHA Men’s Hairstylist of the Year in 2016 and has been a NAHA nominee multiple times. Since 2013 she has also taught other stylists, creating education for brands including Aveda and Balmain.
Her editorial work has run in Vogue Adria, Numéro Netherlands, Vogue Italia and MMScene. She led hair on Balmain’s FW21 campaign and on the Balmain × Channel 4 original series Fracture, and co-directed a Numéro Netherlands story with photographer Fabrizzio Del Rincon.
On the carpet she has prepped Ciara for the MTV VMAs, Charles Melton for the Met Gala, and Jordan Barrett and James Turlington at Cannes. She has also worked on celebrity hair teams for Demi Lovato, Winnie Harlow, Bebe Rexha and Karol G, and created wig looks for Ciara and Demi Lovato.
A wig coloring specialist, she also owns a salon and still works behind the chair, so cutting and color stay at the center of everything she does on set.
